Nellie Bly (May 5, 1864
[1] – January 27, 1922) was the
pen name of American pioneer
female journalist Elizabeth Jane Cochran. She remains notable for two feats: a record-breaking
trip around the worldin emulation of
Jules Verne's character Phileas Fogg, and an
exposé in which she
faked insanity to study a
mental institution from within. In addition to her writing, she was also an
industrialist and charity worker.

A link to her extended article Ten Days in a Mad-House
here, should be more than enough reading material for her.
"And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don't believe in magic will never find it." -Roald Dahl
