My INFp friend does this big goofy grin whenever he sees me. Like literally, it's every single time.

Like, on Halloween, for instance, he saw me hanging out with some friends, and he all the sudden started to  and he walked over really fast. He then gave me a piece of candy, lolz. I thought it was sweet. :D

I noticed that most of the INFps that I've met do a little grin too. It's the one where they want to laugh, but they try to hide it, so they so they let out this little awkward smile beause they're stifling a laugh. Has anyone else noticed this?

It makes me happy when they do that.

Yeah, that grin is very typical of INFps. Especially with Ni subtypes. I tend to look down when I am smiling. I've noticed that Fe subtypes' smiles are much wider and they tend to push their body slightly forward when they are smiling or laughing.

For some reason, it feels weird for me to do a big toothy grin... so I end up doing the goofy "Try not to laugh" thing, and sometimes that weird thing where I scrunch my mouth up to keep myself from busting out laughing... which is even goofier-looking.

I'm always doing the big goofy grin. Some have expressed paranoia over the source of this seemingly constant glee. Often it will dissolve into a chuckle, I crack myself up in my own mind. That's when I do the scrunch face thing auvi described to avoid appearing maniacal.

This would confirm my recent thoughts. I suspect I'm a Ni subtype of INFp. I'm always grinning like this. I rarely smile and never toothy.

Once I was at an audience, in a tribunal, and the judge told me:

"Mr XXXX why are you smiling? You're giving the audience the impression you don't take the situation seriously!"

I was already so embarrassed, it got even worse, so I had to apologize and told them some light joke to calm things down like:

"Would you prefer that I look sad instead?"...

Yes I do this allot. I'm not sure why but whenever I see people i kinda have this half-smile on my face that people are really annoyed with it. :| Sometimes I punch myself just to stop smiling. :D
