I've been planning on getting out from under internet stuff cuz it's distracting me from my urge to do a walkabout—hence why i deleted my 16t account a few days ago and transferred ownership of this forum over to Galen. Then bg came by here the other day and told me what was up, and that a more open alternative board was needed due to changes going down at 16t. I said okay, and I'll hang around a bit to see this through.
To that end, bg and merky are also now on board as co-admins here to help steer things. All 3 are pretty hands-off as far as moderation goes, else I wouldn't have chosen them, so don't expect any major upheavals in that respect. For the most part any moderation will continue to be limited to things like:
- Mopping up occasional spam
- Moving a thread once in awhile
- Enhancing board functionality (this is primary)
- Intervention reserved only for truly egregious or creepy bullshit
For everything else, my attitude is generally: If you don't like it—don't look at it. But don't take this to mean that the board is a bastion for trolling/gross stuff. It isn't. While things are laissez-faire here, there are venues where people engage in serious civil discussion, and they will be respected. If you want to do 4chan shit, post it in Epsilon—Idiot King (CPig) will be pleased. If you want to flame and start drama with someone, I frankly don't care and I'd rather you sort it out amongst yourselves; just be courteous and not fuck up other people's threads with it. Shit where you're supposed to and all will be fine.
It's going to take a lot of work getting this place off the ground and turning it into a vibrant community. I don't want people coming here to bitch and moan about the16types; it's counter-productive and misses the point. Socionix is not the anti-16types and never will be. Be proactive and get involved instead. Help turn this board into one you'd actually like to see happen and enjoy hanging out on. I'd be much happier seeing everyone get what they want.
Just to note in case: Please don't bug bg to do shit at 16types like deleting your posts or account and what not. He said he wants to focus attention on getting this place up to snuff for the time being… so, let him do that. PM or email jxrtes for this sort of thing if you need, he isn't going to dick you about it.
